Meet the People Behind Black and Company Realtors

Joe Black

   Licensed Real Estate Broker

I moved to the area in 1993 after being stationed at Fort Riley and immediately purchased a farm in Dickinson County.  After 20 years of active duty service as an Intelligence  Warrant Officer I retired from the Army in 1997 and started a computer consulting company.  In 2002, I founded a nationwide real estate referral company (B&C Relocation Network).  My goal was to provide trust-worthy real estate agents at every military installation and to raise funds for wounded and disabled Soldiers and their families.  I raised the funds by giving 30% of my commission to a charity of the client's choice in their name.  In 2006, I obtained a Kansas Real Estate License and started meeting local real estate needs as an independent agent.   I obtained a Kansas Real Estate Brokers License in 2009 and founded Black and Company Realtor's.  I chose "building stronger communities and supporting our Soldiers" as my company's motto.  I believe that through providing the highest real estate service possible and by donating 10% of our commission to local charities and causes, we can attain this goal.

Cheryl Gray

Rental Manager

I moved to Kansas in 2005 after being stationed at Fort Riley. I liked it so much that I requested to return to the Fort Riley area to retire from the Army after 20 years of active service as a Signal Officer.  My goal is to provide excellent services to both the owners and the renters of the properties I manage. In addition, I intend to obtain my Kansas Real Estate License this year and continue to serve the Soldiers and Community Members of Abilene and the surrounding areas.

Phylis Fitzgerald

Rental Manager

Phyllis Fitzgerald is originally from Nashville, Tennessee but made Junction City her home in 1999.  She is a Retired Chief Warrant Officer 3.  Elected to the City Commission in 2015, Phyllis is currently serving as the Mayor of Junction City.

Community service is at the forefront of Phyllis’ agenda as she is involved in several projects that focus on the beautification of Junction City. Believing that “First Impressions are lasting,” Phyllis works hard on making that “First Impression “Great””.  Phyllis’ most recent endeavor is to honor former Soldiers of the Big Red One that have made Junction City their home by highlighting their service in a feature called ‘What is your Big Red One Story?’    Her goal is to complete 100 stories by the 1st Infantry Division’s 100th anniversary on 7 June 2017.
