Meet the People Behind Black and Company Realtors

Joe Black

   Licensed Real Estate Broker

GRI (Graduate Real Estate Institute)
MRP (Military Relocation Professional)

I moved to the area in 1993 after being stationed at Fort Riley and immediately purchased a farm in Dickinson County.  After 20 years of active duty service as an Intelligence  Warrant Officer I retired from the Army in 1997 and started a computer consulting company.  In 2002, I founded a nationwide real estate referral company (B&C Relocation Network).  My goal was to provide trust-worthy real estate agents at every military installation and to raise funds for wounded and disabled Soldiers and their families.  I raised the funds by giving 30% of my commission to a charity of the client's choice in their name.  In 2006, I obtained a Kansas Real Estate License and started meeting local real estate needs as an independent agent.   I obtained a Kansas Real Estate Brokers License in 2009 and founded Black and Company Realtor's.  I chose "building stronger communities and supporting our Soldiers" as my company's motto.  I believe that through providing the highest real estate service possible and by donating 10% of our commission to local charities and causes, we can attain this goal.

Colin Colley

   Licensed Real Estate Land Agent

I’m a retired Army Warrant Officer with 22 years of active military service and a dedicated outdoorsman. I’m married to the love of my life, Julie, and have four wonderful children and two granddaughters. I grew up in the mountains of Virginia but have called Kansas home since 2007 and retired from Fort Riley in 2012. During my time in the Army, I deployed multiple times and have lived in many places overseas and in other parts of the country. From my up bringing and life experiences I have developed a deep appreciation of the outdoors and the importance of land ownership and land stewardship. I am an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoy every opportunity to be in the outdoors. So, as I was approaching retirement from the Army it seemed wise to use that passion for the outdoors and I obtained my Kansas Real Estate License in 2012 and have worked exclusively in farm, ranch, and recreational real estate. Along with my love of the outdoors I have always focused on improving the quality of life within the community I live in and improving the quality of life for veterans. I have served meals to the needy on Christmas day, I have donated venison to Kansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry, I have hauled clothes, food, and furniture to families in need, and I have given numerous donations to multiple veteran’s organizations. So, joining forces with Black and Company Realtors and being able to leverage my work in real estate to do even more was an easy decision.

Lacy Rodgers

Licensed Real Estate Sales Agent

Lacy was born and raised on the western slope of Colorado, but spent many summers visiting her grandma, Nancy Bush, in Solomon and fell in love with the small towns of Dickinson County.

Shortly after marrying her amazing husband Dillon, and the birth of their beautiful daughter Cammi, Lacy "sold" her family on a new beginning in Abilene.

It was through the buying process with Joe Black that Lacy discovered a joy in real estate.  Homes in Dickinson County are full of history and one-of-a-kind features.  She believes that homes in this area have a unique way of showcasing the brilliance of a small town while also providing that comfort you expect your forever home to encompass.

In her free time, she likes to cheer on the Chiefs, spend time with family, go boating at Milford Lake, and do photography.  She owns Lacy Rodgers Photography as well, and plans to utilize her photography and marketing skills into her listings.
